Because we believe that GOD is real, the Bible is HIS word, and that JESUS is the way, the truth, and the life, we are unabashedly committed to JESUS and HIS mission to remake and restore relationships between GOD, self, others and our world. That means we focus on two things that go hand-in-hand because one fuels the other:
- Knowing GOD so deeply that we are personally and corporately changed and transformed.
- Actively joining HIM in HIS kingdom call to bring that change and transformation to our friends, our communities and our world.
We do this together — walking with others on the journey as we become what GOD intends us to be, and walking with others as we move outside ourselves, bringing change to others.
This kingdom desire for transformation and mission in the context of community is at the heart of each of our ministries and fuels everything we do.
John Isemann | Pastor
When John first parked his car in the MHCC lot more than 20 years ago, he had no idea he would wind up one of its pastors. His call to ministry took a circuitous route through the world of banking and investing, and he can often be heard muttering, “How did I get here?” John has three very obvious passions – for his family and four kids, for professional sports teams that haven’t won in years (more muttering) and for following Jesus by actually doing what He did and not just talking about it.

Renay Billing | Director of Ministry
Renay is a champion multi-tasker, recovering control freak, and world-class napper. She’s crazy about her husband, two daughters, son and son-in-law, and has mixed feelings about her emptying nest. Renay also has a deep-seated love for dark chocolate, coffee, and books, so it’s not unusual to find her in Starbucks with a Venti Bold, a Godiva bar and reading material. She’s been around MHCC for more than 20 years and is passionate about change — the kind that happens in us and the kind that happens through us, individually and together.

Steve Fischer | Pastor of Student Ministries
Steve is the Pied Piper of MHCC and can usually be found in the middle of a small crowd. He’s the tall one with the shaved head, possibly sporting a black eye or fat lip from basketball, football or a game he invented. This administratively-challenged natural athlete and leader from Ohio is serious about GOD and passionate about helping kids know HIM, both in groups and one-on-one. He drinks tea, cooks for his wife and has already taught his 12-month old son to get out of a cradle (the wrestling move, not the bed).

Tony Robledo | Pastor of Worship Arts
Tony is a college graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. He’s an avid lover of theology (written and spoken), an awkward but developing conversationalist, and singlehandedly runs the local Starbucks with his coffee addiction. A bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, Tony loves everything from photography to graphic design, teaching to traveling, soccer to skydiving. You can find some of his creative writing and personal theology on

Connie Baker | Director of Redemption
A life-long Jersey girl, Connie has been around MHCC more than half her life. Her passion and purpose is linking arms with people who are seeking wholeness and healing. Redemption is a good place to put her Masters in counseling and alcohol and drug certification to work as she journeys with those who want to become all God intended them to be. Connie has been married to her high school sweetheart for 41 years, and loves hanging out with their three daughters, their husbands, and six amazing grandchildren.

Loretta Davie | Children’s Ministry Coordinator
A lot of people have backyard chickens, but Loretta’s may be the only ones who come when they’re called. Her husband of almost 20 years, two teenage sons, and golden retriever, Kassie, may also be found in that backyard, but probably don’t listen quite as well. Loretta once spent her time surrounded by spreadsheets, but now she prefers to be surrounded by children and to help them discover and take hold of JESUS. She hates television (just ask her kids), loves to read, runs for her health (not for fun) and likes to hang out with her family.

Katie Rubright | Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Katie is a sweet pre-school teacher, loving mom to three beautiful girls (15, 12 and 6), and has an ongoing relationship with all things Disney – she’s also a fierce sports fan and extremely competitive. You are most likely to find her at her daughters’ sporting events, but she also loves to read, run (she just completed her first marathon at – no joke – Disney) or watching college sports – in a stadium or on tv. She also loves hanging out with kids, so it’s not surprising that she’s passionate about helping them to understand GOD’s heart for them and for the world.

Dave Hecht | Business Administrator
Every church has one, and Dave is ours. He’s the guy who’s been around forever (his beard has too) and knows everything, from where to find extra coffee cups to the procedure for making a Bylaw change. One of the founding members of MHCC, he is also our resident historian and can document basically everything that has ever happened. Dave and Nina have been married for fifty-plus years, have five children and an ever-increasing number of grandchildren (current count is 21.)
